Which? asked just under a thousand of its members who already own a conservatory what their reasons were for getting the extension built on to their house. The results were very interesting.

Nearly half of the people Which? asked said the key reason they got a new conservatory was because they wanted more room and living space.

21% of people said they wanted to maximise the light coming into their home

16% of people wanted to add a wow factor to their home

13% wanted to have more space for garden items and plants

5% of people wanted more space to play

3% of people wanted to create more storage space

Interestingly, only 1 in 4 people bought their conservatory to add value to their home, and more than 8 in 10 people expected their conservatory to add value to their home anyway.
