Andover Golf Society help to raise over ?4500 for SUDEP charity

Another great day for the Society! Test Valley GC was our host once again and the management team of Alastair and Maria ensured that everything ran smoothly. There have been some changes at that course including landscaping work, extension of the spike bar, and installation of a marquee which effectively doubles the hospitality area. Excellent facilities and catering.
The course generally was in fine condition, and 18 teams of 4 battled in a strong wind for the Andover Golfing Society Charity Shield Presented by Langdowns DFK. In addition there were plenty of individual challenges including the Langdowns DFK Par 3s prize for the best aggregate points.
In the evening following an excellent meal, Roger and Sandy Scrivens addressed the gathering regarding SUDEP (Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy) our Captain’s chosen charity for the year. The ‘pot’ benefitted from entries, hole sponsorship, a fantastic raffle table, and an auction of golfing vouchers at various clubs, plus fine wine donated by Peter Fazal, and the excellent holiday apartments of Meryl & Bob Cradduck and Bridget & Peter Quilliam. Fines for the wayward shots added lots more dosh! In all, the day raised in excess of ?4500, a great result.
